Sharing the 4+1 Commitment

In this toolkit, you’ll find shareable content aimed at informing your networks about your organization’s participation in the 4+1 Commitment. You will find sample posts to use on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X, as well as graphics to accompany your posts. You will also find graphics and copy to use for company newsletters or intranet and may incorporate these into your organization’s preexisting communication platforms.

How to Use this Toolkit

See our social media and newsletter templates below; feel free to edit as needed to fit the voice of your company.

Instructions:

  • Copy the social media post text.
  • Save the graphics as images to your computer or mobile phone.
  • Upload the saved graphic and paste the text into your favorite social media platform.
  • Tag @hiringourheroes on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and X. When you tag @HiringOurHeroes it allows our team to amplify your social media posts.

This nationwide initiative launched by Hiring Our Heroes and Blue Star Families addresses the root causes of the 21% military spouse unemployment rate by encouraging companies to adopt policies that ensure military spouses are supported in the workplace.

This voluntary commitment asks employers to adopt at least one of the employment policies below (plus consider joining an existing government spouse employment program), which [Organization/company name] supports in the following ways:

  • Facilitate job transferability
  • Offer remote or telework
