This innovative program, offered in collaboration with TransForce, connects members of the military community with high-demand transportation careers. The initiative stems from the nationwide effort to eliminate the truck driver shortage while connecting veterans and their families with meaningful careers. Veterans, military spouses, members of the Guard and Reserve, and military dependents are eligible to participate.

About the Scholarship
Program participants will earn Class A CDL with the Drive for Success training scholarship for TransForce’s Master Driving Program. The scholarships will cover all program costs, excluding meals and incidental expenses. After graduating from the program, put your Class A CDL to work in a driving career with your choice of local, regional, or over-the-road (ORT) job with one of hundreds of employers around the country. The scholarship includes:
  • All required theory and behind-the-wheel training
  • Travel and transportation to the training locations
  • Lodging
  • All training materials
  • DOT physical and testing fees
  • Employment support

What to Expect

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this program, interested students must be a veteran, military spouse, member of the Guard or Reserve, or military dependent and meet the following criteria:
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Pass a required drug test
  • Valid driver's license and clear background check
  • Veterans must have an Honorable or General Under Honorable Conditions discharge

No, the Drive for Success scholarship does not use your GI Bill.
Program participants will earn their CDL Class A at the United States Truck Driving School in Denver, Colorado. Program transportation and lodging are provided for all Drive for Success participants as part of the scholarship. Once you've earned your CDL, career opportunities are available nationwide.
Yes! TransForce offers local, regional, and OTR jobs. If you want to get home daily, they will help match you with a company offering local routes.
Yes. Entry-level drivers are the drivers of the future. Over-the-road (OTR) truck drivers are in high demand, so TransForce will work as your advocate to find you a job with the pay, benefits, and schedule you're looking for.
