Hiring Our Heroes Holds First Coast Guard Transition Summit
Having hosted more than 55 Transition Summits at 30-plus military installations during the past three years, Hiring Our Heroes has provided transition programming at locations across the globe, but until today has not offered a summit on a Coast Guard installation.
That’s set to change today, when Hiring Our Heroes will host a Transition Summit for service members, veterans, and military spouses at Coast Guard Base Alameda, California. The event will bring together veteran-friendly employers with transitioning service members, military spouses, and veterans looking for employment opportunities.
“Bringing our Transition Summit team of experts to Coast Guard Base Alameda is a powerful example of how Hiring Our Heroes continuously works toward our goal to connect all of our men and women in uniform and their families on installations around the world with meaningful employment opportunities,” said Eric Eversole, president of Hiring Our Heroes. “As we approach our 56th transition summit, Hiring Our Heroes is proud to add the first Coast Guard installation to our growing list of summit hosts, and we are honored to serve all those stationed there in their journey to civilian employment.”
The one-day event will feature industry-specific employment briefs with human resource experts and hiring managers, resume building and digital networking workshops, all culminating this evening in a free networking and hiring reception for participants.

Established February 15, 2012, and located on Coast Guard Island in Alameda, California, Coast Guard Base Alameda provides a wide variety of services in direct support of Coast Guard activities throughout the West Coast.
Transition Summits are just one of the types of signature events hosted by Hiring Our Heroes across the country and on overseas military installations around the world. Launched in 2011, Hiring Our Heroes seeks to help veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses find meaningful employment by connecting them with veteran-ready employers who are prepared to hire from within the military community.
